I broke it.

Hi Everybody.

I broke my belated New Year's Resolution.  I missed my blog posting last week.

AAB Blog Helper worrying about "Strategic Planning" didn't help.  (She should be Strategically Planning to help me get my blog posts posted in a timely fashion.)  We've been busy as all get-out here, doing just about everything except helping me post on my Blog.  We've been Summer Reading, and Teen Crafting, and Library Boreding, and Computing, and doing all of the usual Library Business around here.

Except for me posting on my Blog.  Did I mention that already?

So, AAB Blog Helper is being punished.  She said she doesn't ever never want her picture on my blog.  She runs from the camera (like I do, only she's less likely to be caught napping, and therefore get photographed, at work).  So here we are together:

Hee hee!  What do you think of that?

Well, I realize you can't see her face in that picture, so I will help you out a bit.

HEE HEE!

Okay, all kidding aside.  I am sorry I broke my New Year's Resolution.  Can I maybe make up for it with an extra post this week, do you think?

And an extra-handsome photo of myself, kind of like this one?

I hereby Resolve to soak up this entire sun-puddle,

Tober

Back by Popular Demand!

Dear World,

I have been Terribly Neglected by my staff. Now, when I think about it, my Blogging Friends (that's you) look forward to my posts and hang on my every word--so YOU have been Neglected by my staff, too.

Well. SHAME ON YOU Assistant Assistant Boss Blog Helper! Now you've gone and gotten the whole Internets worried about me! (Well, okay, just a little bit of the Internets--but a very Important segment, I must say.)

We have (according to my staff) had a Busy last few weeks. It wouldn't have been so bad, but everyone rushes off to their Unauthorized Vacations, and they leave me to manage the library during the holidays. Oh, and they get distracted by the cookies and chocolate and other goodies that make it in the building, so it's hard to get them to do anything important like help me blog.

So, I'm going to make a (Belated) New Year's Resolution:

I, Tober the Cat, Boss of Thorntown Public Library (and all lands visible from Library windows), do hereby resolve to make one (1) new Blog Post, complete with handsome/cute/funny/interesting photos, each week during the rest of 2012.

Wow.

Wish me luck, guys.

Purrs, and headbutts, and nose-touches,

Tober

PS---

(It would have been bad to forget the first picture on the very first post!)

Long time, no blogging!

Hi everybody!

It's been two whole weeks since my last post! I've tried to at least snoop around on everyone's blogs a bit, but we've been "busy" here. I use the quotes because sometimes I suspect that helping me with my blog is not the High Priority Library Business that it should be. So there's all sorts of "busyness" going on that isn't very important, like:

1. A big long staff meeting during which I heard laughter,

2. Making a tree out of construction paper,

3. Putting stickers on books,

4. Eating lunch,

5. Having bored meetings and working on library budget things,

6. And, last but not least, planning for festival parade float book sale carpet cleaning mess week.

None of these things are as important as UPDATING MY BLOG. Here is how I have been spending my time:

Supervising staff:

Greeting customers:

Helping with decorations:

Guarding unattended belongings:

NOT BLOGGING because my helper is too "busy":

I can almost promise that I will have lots of posts later this month, because something about moving books and furnitures and making floaty parade floats inspires AAB Blog Helper to sit down at her desk and be a helpful Assistant. Maybe it's her way of shirking her Librarianly duties?

Purrs,

Tober

PS--I would like to issue a Formal Apology to AAB Linda White for urping on her very important papers. AAB Linda, I am the most sorry about that. You will need to cover your desk with a tarp from now on. (AB Karen should do this, too. Just in case.)

Remember me?

Hi blog fans! I have been a Very Very Bad Famous Blogging Library Cat. I think everybody's probably forgotten about me. My July 7 Resolution is to become (once again) a Very Good Famous Blogging Library Cat.

I want you to know that I have been a super big help to the Library Staff here in Thorntown. If you will recall, my Staff found me "playing with" (their words) a wasp several Saturdays ago. They found out it was a wasp and smacked it and killed it because wasps have stingers and they didn't want me to get hurt. (I was glad they did this after my faithful Followers informed me that getting stung really is a pretty Bad Idea.)

Wasps keep getting into my Library, though, and the Staff and customers don't like them one bit. So I help find them. Humans aren't sensitive to the sounds of bug wings, so I tune in and meow and stare in the general direction of the bug that needs swatting. I also twitch my tail. Then my nearest helper kills it! (The bug, not my tail.) Then, if I'm quick, I eat it! This is wonderful--better than those canned treats they give me all the time (although I love, love, love those, too).

I am the sorriest about being a lazy blogging cat.
Here is a picture of me. I hope its cuteness makes up for the fact that I have not been a good Blogger or Blog-reader. These humans seem to think that I have other More Important things to do (like finding all the wasps and shelving DVDs and warming seats and such).

He of the ever-lengthening job description,

Tober
