I was on High Alert the other night! It seems a horrible slobbering monster was trying to get in my Library! AAB Christine and AB Karen were working downstairs when they noticed a monstrous presence at the door. Christine ran and got me (she's chicken) so I could give the would-be Intruder the Stink-eye:
Do you see it? Isn't it a horrible thing? It scraped at the doors a bit trying to invade the place, but then it got a good look at me and made some whimpery baby-woofie noises because I'm One Intimidating Cat.
Here's a closer picture, just so you can see the Danger my Library was in:
That thing could have gotten in and left drool-splotches on the carpets. It could have eaten all of the Cat Treats! It could have left black furs where all of my orange furs are supposed to be!
Oh, hang on a minute. . .
Okay, so AAB Christine says she was NOT scared (liar-liar-pants-on-fire) and that the monster was a woofie-dog named Peppy and he's a boy and he was just pausing outside for a minute while his person came in to get some library books. And he's really quite friendly and probably wanted to Play. ("Play" roughly translates to "eat Library Cat.") He's a Sheltie/lab mix--similar in ferociousness to the Godzilla/Mothra variety of monster.
AB Karen gave Peppy some of MY Cat Treats (see it could have eaten all the Cat Treats!) probably to distract him from his goal of Complete Library Domination. My Stink-eye and her ingenious use of Cat Treats meant that our evening ended peacefully and without incident.
Defending my Library from slobbering Beasties,

Tober, your Staff and the Library Patrons are very lucky to have you and your Stink-Eye to defend them from this heinous hound!
We salute you.
Those puppies look like a lot of fun (although I've never really ever met one). They look rambunkshus. Hide your food dish, so they don't get doggie slobber all over it.
Mandu
Don't worry Tober, all of us woofies aren't bad!
Nubbin wiggles,
Oskar
Tober, it's very considerate of you to defend your staff from stupid Dogfaces. They are terribly slobbery, aren't they? You should be handsomely rewarded for your outstanding bravery.
Tober, I am so glad you protected the library from that dangerous intruder! If he had drooled on the carpet and eaten all the cat treats, the library as you know it might have been destroyed!
He didn't look like a particularly vicious doggie... He actually looked kind of cute! Maybe next time just say hi and see how it goes. :)
Guard cat, Tober, saves the day! Front page worthy we're sure!
Well it's a good thing you were on guard and ready to give him the what-for! He won't mess with YOU again!
Uh, Tober, we're your friends and some of us are slobbering beasts .... uh, woofies.
You defended your library and your treats nobly. Well done, Tober, well done!
We let woofies in our house once in awhile, but we hide our food and treats! And some of dem do slobber. We can't say no tho cuz mom won't let us.
Mr. Tober, we just have to tell you how much we admire you, for so many reasons. You have a JOB - that is cool. And you rule your staff with a firm paw. Your staff must be terrified of you firing them, as they should be. See, when you are just a plain ol' non-working cat, you just have 1 or 2 staffs. If you fire them, then no one shows back up to feed you and clean your litter boxes. If you fire your staff, someone new will show up to take their place. You are indeed the King of Cats.
Your admirers, Fuzzy and Zoe
Oh my! A puppy is a scary thing! I haven't seen one for awhile... though I have to contend with Monty and the Monster Reye... both canines!!
Oh goodness! We are so very glad the woofie didn't get in there and get you!
Hi Tober! Oh we are so behind in visiting you! We think you were very brave to stand up to the woofie. We have lots of woofie friends online but we don't know if we would be brave enough to meet them in person - we know that they can be very big and a little scarry! We are impressed you did such a good, brave job of keeping him out!
Good job Tober! Thanks for coming by our commentathon!
You did the right thing, Tober, because you can't be too careful, after all the library could have been in real danger, but we're glad it wasn't. Good thing, you are there to keep an eye on those intooders.
