My New Assignment--Bedtime Reading

Today my Library Staff and I learned that I have a new assignment: Family Reading Specialist. This is a Very Important job and I am taking it very seriously.

You see, when Assistant Boss Karen took some Very Important Papers to the Court House in Lebanon, Assessor Marilyn Smith asked after my health. Her grandchildren had once visited me and are following my Adventures on this blog. They had read of my Traumatic Outdoor Adventure while the People Counters Census trainees were here and asked Grandma Marilyn how I was getting along. I wish to assure ALL of my devoted fans that I have suffered no Ill Effects. . . a generous supply of treats, many tummy rubs, a sunny chair, and I am good as new!

Now, about this New Assignment: The Children and their Mommy read my blog every night as part of their Family Reading Time. As a result, I have another line added to my already lengthy Job Description at the Library: I am the Official Family Reading Specialist. I am trying to not get too proud and big-headed about this New Responsibility, because already there are times when I barely fit behind AB Karen and AAB Christine when they are at their desks and I am wanting to sleep in their chairs at the same time. Still, I am quietly (this is a Library, after all) Proud of my new responsibility.

This is a picture of me practicing my reading skills. I am reading Bad Kitty by Nick Bruel, which is very Interesting to me because I am such a Very Good Cat. If you want to read a really scary story, you should try Bad Kitty Gets a Bath by the same author. (I did not know that they put such Horror Stories in the Easy Book Room! Yikes!)

AAB Christine has printed more business cards for me because they were ALL GONE! (AB Karen had given them to all the Census folks so they could monitor my recovery.) My Fans are welcome to ask for My Card on their next visit.

Responsibly Yours,
Tober

Christmastime at the Library!

Oh my gosh, Cats (and People), it has been a long time since I have posted any news on here! We have been very busy at the Library with Christmas coming and people thinking they need Vacations (apparently no one cares that I abolished those) and other people getting bad germs and sharing them with everyone else.

My Assistant Assistant Boss Linda found an email in her junk mail from Laila and Minchie. Hi Laila and Minchie! I am fine! How DARE our spam filter put your Very Important Email in the junk mail. I will have a talk with it for you.

Here, I will try to catch you up on Christmastime at the Library.

First of all, there are trees EVERYWHERE in here, and they all have interesting things hanging from them, and shining lights, and the fake green stuff is pretty tasty. The Library was a flurry of activity after Thanksgiving when all of the decorations went up.

On December 7 we had a big Christmas Party called A Scenic Christmas at the Library. Jingle John came to the Library and brought a real live Reindeer and other arctic animals! The Reindeer was very small (for a Reindeer, I guess), but I also heard that Jingle John brought a doggie and I was not interested in being in the same room with a doggie. One of my AABs snapped a picture of John and the doggie and the Reindeer for me.

Vicious doggie alert!
Do you see that vicious doggie on the left?

Here is another picture of the Little Reindeer. It is standing in front of my Most Favorite Tree in the Library--do you know why it is my Favorite?

Apples, apples everywhere!
The party was a Very Big Success and around 350 children and adults came to see the program, make Christmas ornaments and magnets, eat cookies, and have pictures taken with Santa and Mrs. Claus. It was a very fun time, but I am glad I was safely tucked away in a staff office where I could view the activity through the windows.

In addition to the usual Christmas decorations, I am excited to report that my Stocking was hung by the chimney with care:

Fill 'er up, Staff!
I am sad to report that it appears to be EMPTY.

I suppose it would have things in it if I hadn't opened my first Christmas present early:

Oh, yay! Stuff!
I am excited that I have gotten Christmas cards and presents from some very special blogging friends. I have my Christmas card all ready to go, but sometimes it can be hard to get the Staff to help me do things like lick envelopes and apply stamps.

Since I have deprived you of my handsome self for over two weeks, I guess I'd better post another picture. The photographer has been particularly pesky this time of year, especially since now she keeps trying to put me in particular places (in front of trees, on weird chairs, in windowsills) to get a "special" picture. Well, every picture of me is special! Here is one where she finally left me alone. . . and I think it came out pretty well:

Handsomeness!
Thank you everybody for thinking of me while I was busy managing my sometimes unruly Staff! I will post again soon!

Purrs & headbutts,

Tober

My business cards.

Below are my two current business cards.

Card #1:

Lying down on the job.
Card #2:

Tall and Bossly.
Which one do you like better? I like #2 because I look much Taller, but I think #1 has a snazzier layout.

I will make my Assistant do it again until she gets it right.

Tall AND snazzy,

Tober
