My Poster Contest!

Guess what??? In honor of my Finding Month, my library is having a "We Love Our Library Cat" Poster Contest!

My library visitors are invited to make a poster celebrating my Awesomeness. You'll see that the poster lists four categories for entrants. . . but let me tell you a secret:

There's a category missing.

Do you know what it is?

You do?

You do!

Yes, YOU, my blogging friends, have your own special category! You're invited to enter my poster contest!

The rules for you are the same as for my customers, although you can, of course, submit your entries via email. Your poster can be made using any artistic media, include Photoshop or other computer programs (MS Paint is more my speed), and entries are due by November 2, 2011--so you have forEVER to work on your masterpieces!

The winner from my Blogging Buddies category will receive a little care package of presents from me and I will also donate $25 to the animal rescue/sanctuary/humane society etc. of your choice. Sound good?

You can submit your entries to csterle at thorntown dot lib dot in dot us, or you can mail them (I love mail, too) to Thorntown Public Library, 124 N Market St, Thorntown, IN 46071, ATTN Tober, Boss.

I am so excited I can hardly nap!

Best. Presents. Ever.

Okay okay okay. I know I just posted but then these exciting One Whole Year Anniversary things started happening!

I got a present from my Staff. It is a Bunny-rabbit made out of a washcloth rolled in catnip and tied with a string and it is the best-smelling thing in the Whole World!

Here I am with the Bunny:

Ooooh. You smell nice.
I give the Bunny a hard time:

Where are you hiding the Catnip?
The Bunny is no match for my feline Prowess:

Bunny-rabbit, come here. Please.
And then I got my Very Own Cupcake with Cat-Treat Sprinkles:

Whipped Cream! I'm missed you!
Got a bit on my nose:

Did I get it?
I guess I really shouldn't eat my dessert first, but since it's my Hire Day. . .

I get special Whiskas food for dinner tonight!
This has been a Wonderful Day!

Hoping my tummy can handle all of this yummy goodness,

Happy November 3 to Me!

As of today I have been living at the Library for One Whole Year. As of tomorrow I will have been blogging for One Whole Year.

This time of year is really getting to be a bit too exciting for me!

Passed out from all the Excitement.
I also need to tell you about Halloween. Apparently my AB Karen thought it was a Good Idea to lock me up on Halloween so I couldn't visit the Downstairs while Library Staff handed out candy and cookies. (After hearing about the terrible awful horrible things lurking about on Halloween, I decided that it was a Good Idea, too.)

Anyway, I have discovered this Wonderful thing called leftover Halloween candy. There is a Monster dish full of leftover Halloween candy on the Adult Circulation Desk. (To see the Monster dish, look at the photos on my last few posts. He's blue with a big mouth!)

Leftover Halloween candy is crinkly and shiny and smells wonderful and absolutely zips across the carpet when I bat it around! It has nice little paper-y and plastic-y places for me to put my teeth, and I am currently training my staff to throw pieces across the library for me to chase.

There is also a seemingly endless supply of this stuff. Unfortunately, my AB and AABs have decided that the leftover Halloween candy should be locked up every night before they leave the building.

Here I am with a cinnamon disk:

I love leftover Halloween candy!
Tootsie Rolls are also lots of fun! And Jolly Ranchers!

One-Whole-Year Cat-in-Residence of the Thorntown Public Library,

Ignored

Here is a picture of me being Ignored:

HELLOOOOOO! *sigh*
I do not like it when my Assistant Boss leaves my office for long periods of time and wanders around the building. She can be very difficult to find. I finally hunted her down and was waiting patiently for her to attend to me, but apparently she thought that what she was working on was more Important (it wasn't). I am Not A Fan of hardwood floors, either, so it was a very big thing for me to wait for her over there. (I eventually got treats and My Assistant Boss back in her place.)

I should clarify for my feline friends what my Finding Day is. My Finding Day is probably the same as your Gotcha Day. I use "Finding" because my Assistant Boss Karen found me that day. I think the word Finding is very Important, especially since I was lost until AB Karen (you guessed it!) found me.

(Karen also took me to live with woofies that day, but maybe I can get her to tell the story on October 19.)

So if, when the fantabulous 19th of October arrives, you would like to wish me a Happy Gotcha Day, you go right ahead!

I also have a Hire Date to celebrate in November. That is the day that I was Hired to work at the Thorntown Public Library. I have since taken command of the place, but I was just a lowly security watchcat/PR kitty when I was hired on November 3, 2009. I quickly worked my way to the top, and that's where I intend to stay.

Here is a picture of me supervising the Library from my desk:

Hey! Keep it down out there! This is a LIBRARY!
Have happy weekends!
